Early life
Swastika Mukherjee was born in Kolkata, West Bengal, on Saturday, 13 December 1980 (aged 39 years, as in 2019). Sagittarius is her zodiac sign.
She was educated at Carmel High School in Kolkata, St. Teresa’s Secondary School, and Gokhale Memorial School. Mukherjee then graduated from Kolkata’s Jadavpur University with a degree in history. She was noticed while at college by a director who offered her a part in his “Devdasi” TV series.

Swastika Mukherjee comes from a Hindu family.
Her dad, a famous Bengali actor, was Santu Mukhopadhyay. The name of her mother is Gopa Mukherjee. She has a younger sibling, a costume designer named Ajopa Mukherjee.
Swastika married Promit Sen (singer), the son of Sagar Sen, a singer from Rabindra Sangeet, in 1998. Together, they have a daughter, Mukherjee Anwesha.
The marriage was miserable and lasted for just two years. When she was pregnant, Swastika accused Sen of sexually assaulting her and bullying her. According to her, in 2000, Promit applied for a divorce, but after seeing her success in the acting industry, he later changed his mind. In 2007, the pair divorced.
Later, she started dating Parambrata Chatterjee, a Bengali film actor. The duo met on the set of the movie “Brake Fail.” She was legally married to Promit Sen at the time, so he lodged a criminal adultery case against Parambrata. In 2010, after he moved to Bristol, Mukherjee split with Chatterjee.
She then went into a relationship with Jeet, her “Mastan” co-star. She was also in a relationship with Sumon Mukhopadhyay, the film director.
Career
In 2001, Swastika Mukherjee began her acting career with the TV series “Devdasi.” Then she appeared in “Ek Akasher Niche” and “Protibimbo.” In 2001, with the Bengali film “Hemanter Pakhi,” Mukherjee made her film debut. She subsequently appeared in films like “Mastan,” “Criminal,” “Kranti,” “Take One,” and “Saheb Bibi Golaam.”
In 2011, with the film “Mumbai Cutting,” Swastika made her Hindi film debut. She was appreciated for playing a cameo in the film “Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!” (2015).
In 2020, in Amazon Prime’s web series “Paatal Lok,” Swastika was featured as “Dolly Mehra.”
