Sunitha Upadrashta was married to Kiran Kumar Goparaju, a media professional when she was 19. She has two wards a son named Aakash Goparaju and a daughter named Shreya Goparaju. After a few years, the couple got separated and later decided on a divorce.
Childhood
Sunitha Upadrashta, a young girl of Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh started her music training at the age of 6. She got several opportunities to showcase her talent. She was invited to concerts and All India Radio Programs to sing. Her family has had a great interest in music and supported her strongly. At the age of 13, Sunitha performed at the Tyagaraja Aradhana Utsavalu along with her guru Pemmaraju Surya Rao. She received many awards as a child. The scholarship of the Central Government for her further musical training was one of her achievements. She received lots of appreciation whenever she participated in the competitions. She completed her schooling at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s, Andhra Pradesh.
Personal Life

Later She got engaged to the businessman Rama Krishna Veerapaneni. Recently they both tied the knot with the blessings of her close family friends.
Controversy
Sunitha was offended by the Swami Swaroopanandendra Saraswati of Sharad Peetham. She condemned Swami through her Social Media account for using her name on National Television and involving her name in the list of his disciples.
Career
At the very young age of 17, Sunitha started her career as a playback singer. She gave her debut with the song ‘Ee Velalo Neevu’ from the Telugu film Gulabi (1975). She made her Kannada debut with the song ‘Kesari Haravu’ from the film Bumi Geetha(1997) She has sung over 3000 songs for the Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada Film Industries. She has also worked for many private albums.
Apart from her successful career as a playback singer in three film industries, she also entered into the field of dubbing and voiceovers. She has given her voice to around 100 actresses in around 750 films.
She also made her first Tv appearance in 1995. The episode of the musical show ‘Paadave Koyila’ was aired on DD National Channel. She has title songs of many Telugu serials.
She also anchored the Telugu musical Competition ‘Navaragam’ (1996). She has hosted many such Reality Shows.
Sunitha made her debut as an actress in 2016 with the short Telugu film, ‘Raagam’ the role of Shree Chaitu. She also made a special appearance in the short Telugu film ‘Thadasthu’.
She has done her own musical show named ‘Musical Moments with Sunitha’ in USA.
Awards
She was honored with the National Award for the Light Music Category by the All India Radio and The National Award for Folk Songs at Delhi by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs. She received Nandi Awards, Filmfare awards, and also some International Awards for both playback singing and Dubbing. She was presented the Lata Mangeshkar Best Singer Award by the State Government.
She has also received international awards like the Best Playback Singer Award from European Telugu Association, London.
She has also received a Certificate of Recognition from the California Legislature Assembly.
