Sarah-Jane Dias is an actress, host, VJ and former queen of beauty from India. She was the 2007 Femina Miss India winner and a VJ for Channel V.
Early life
In Muscat, Oman, Sarah-Jane Dias was born. Her dad, Eustace Dias, is an Oilfields Supply Centre marketing manager, and her mother’s name is Yolanda. She also has a sister, Elena Rose Dias, whose name is.
Dias attended Al Wadi Al Kabir Indian School until Grade 10, then she joined Muscat Indian School for her 11th and 12th grades. She then attended university at St. Andrews College in Mumbai. She won the Miss India Oman title prior to winning the Miss India World title in 2007.
Career
In Mumbai, Dias was discovered by Suresh Natrajan by chance when she walked onto his set and was immediately hired for the campaign he was shooting. At the age of 21, she bagged the trophy of a talent hunt TV show, which gave her the opportunity to host a Channel V show. After that, she became the host of getting Gorgeous, a supermodel hunt TV show on the network.
In 2006, Dias featured “Never Let You Go” from their Switch album in the music video for the Australian rock group INXS.
Dias took part in the 2007 Femina Miss India the following year. She subsequently won the 2007 Femina Miss India World title and represented the country at Miss World 2007, but did not place.
In her 2010 Tamil romantic comedy, Theeradha Vilaiyattu Pillai, opposite Kollywood star Vishal Krishna, Dias scored her first major film role. She appeared with Pawan Kalyan in a Telugu film called Panjaa, which was released in 2011. She also appeared opposite Ritesh Deshmukh in 2012 in the Hindi films Kyaa Super Kool Hai Hum and in O Teri opposite Pulkit Samrat in 2014.
She appeared in 2016 in the Zubaan Musical Thriller Film, which was released in March 2016. She is currently seen in Viceroy’s House, the British-Indian historical film.
