Early life:-
Romi Bhatia was born in 1960 in Delhi. She did her Schooling and graduated from Delhi. Not much is known about her early life.
Personal life:-
Her father is a businessman, and her mother is a homemaker.
She got married to former Indian National Cricket team Captain Kapil Dev in 1980. They met through Kapil’s friend Sunil Bhatia in 1979 and became friends. Kapil dev proposed her in the local running train while travelling to mumbai for which she said yes. According to Romi bhatia, She got impressed with Kapil Dev due to his humble and loving nature. Later they tied the knot with each other.
Romi Bhatia watched his 1979 match against West Indies, and he made his first Test Cricket Century.
Kapil Dev hugged her after winning the World Cup for our Country. In that era, personal life of the Cricketers were not that open, but when Kapil Dev hugged her she became famous and came to limelight.
She also shared that Kapil Dev never discusses Cricket with her and always placed his personal and professional life aside. The couple was blessed with a girl after 14 years of marriage.
Her daughter Amiya dev is presently 24 years old and worked as Assistant director with Kabir khan in the biopic of his father Kapil dev named 83.

1-When Kapil Dev hugged her after winning the World Cup, she came into the limelight. The couple met the president, Prime minister and many other Known Personalities within one week of that incident.
2- She Confessed in an interview that she faced difficulty in conceiving her child. After 14 years of marriage, she gave birth to a daughter.
3-In 1995, Romi appeared with Kapil Dev and her daughter within the popular Indian program show ‘Rendezvous with Simi Garewal.
