Early life:
Priya was born in Chennai, Nadu tamoule as the only child of a Tamil father called Bharadwaj and a half-Telugu, a half-Marathi mother named Radha. She was raised both in her parents’ homes, Chennai and Hyderabad, becoming fluid in Tamil and Telugu. In addition to native languages, Priya is proficient in English, Bengali, Hindi, Marathi and Spanish too.
She moved to the United States, where she studied Communications and journalism in SUNY Albany. In 2008, she returned to India and embarked on models, appearing in various television commercials such as Nutrine Maha Lacto, Prince jewelery and Cadbury milk dairy.
Career:

Priya was initially supposed to make her debut in the tamil film Pugaippadam, which she signed first, but since it’s release was delayed until 2010, her first release became the Vaamanan action thriller, led by newcomer Ahmed. It was signed for the project at the end of 2008 to depict Divya, a simple girl next door, with whom the main male character, played by Jai, would fall in love. The film created some anticipation before it was released.
In 2010, three of her films released within a short span of time, the first on New Year 2010. She then starred in her first Telugu film, AVM Productions’ Sekhar Kammula directed political drama Leader, alongside newcomers Rana Daggubati and Richa Gangopadhyay.
Rama Rama Krishna Krishna was her last 2010 release. She next starred in 180, a bilingual Tamil-Telugu project by ad filmmaker Jayendra, which was her only release in 2011. In the second half of 2011, she filmed for her début Hindi film English Vinglish, produced by R Balki.
She is currently shooting simultaneously for three Tamil films, notably featuring the sons of prominent 1980s Tamil actors. Arima Nambi features Vikram Prabhu, Irumbu Kuthirai stars Atharvaa and Vai Raja Vai features her opposite Gautham Karthik. She has also been signed up to play the female protagonist opposite Vimal in Kannan’s next film, in which she will play Annapoorni, an educated young woman from Madurai.
