Jaydev Unadkat was born in Porbandar, Gujrat. His father’s name is Deepak Unadkat, and his sister’s name is Dheera Unadkat. He completed his schooling at St. Mary School, Porbandar.

Jaydev Unadkat used to play Cricket for Saurashtra in career’s early phase and has played for several teams in the Indian premier league.He was selected for Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2013. At that time, he was known as Coolest Indian Player.
He was also chosen for Delhi Daredevils or Delhi Capitals in 2014. Indian Premier League team Kolkata knight riders bid of 160 lakhs in auction for her in 2016. Later in 2017, he joined Rising Pune Supergiants.
Last, in 2018 he played from Rajasthan Royals at the price of 11.5 Crore, he was the most expensive player. In January 2019, he became the second bowler for Saurashtra to take 200 wickets in the Ranji trophy. Even he was the leading wicket-taker in 2019-20 in Ranji trophy.

Jaydev Udankat was first debuted in test cricket on 16 December 2010 in India vs. south Africa in Centurion.
Later on 24 July 2013, he debuted against Zimbabwe in Harare. His life changed after that. He did his T20 debut on 18 June 2016 against Zimbabwe.
