Personal Life
Jangiri Madhumitha belongs to Tamil Catholic Family. She is the daughter of Vannai Govindan, a cadre with AIADMK. She has three sisters and she is the youngest of all. Madhumitha married her cousin Moses Joel, a short film Director and also worked as an assistant director. They dated for a long time and got married on 20 february 2019.
Career
Jangiri madhumitha started her career by featuring in comedy Show Lollu Sabha on Vijay TV. She was initially featured in the movie Oru Kal Oru Kannadi in 2012 alongside Santhanam. However, In the movie Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara she played a role called Baby which brought her more fame.
Afterwards she starred in several movies like Jilla (2014), Kanchana 2 (2015), Ka Ka po (2015), Vellikizhamai 13am Thethi (2016) and Viswasam (2019) in supporting comedy roles. She appeared in several Television shows like Lollu Sabha on Star Vijay, Madipakkam Madhavan on Kalaignar TV, Comedy Junction on Sun Tv and Bigg Boss Tamil 3 on Star Vijay.
Madhumati has also judged the Season 5 of Tamil Stand Up comedy Show-“Kalakka Povathu Yaaru”.
Awards
Jangiri Madhumitha won the award of best female comedian for her debut movie named Oru kal Oru Kannadi.
In 2021, she was awarded with Kalaimamani Awards from EPS.
Controversy
On 2 September 2017 a complaint was filed in opposition to Madhumitha. Her neighbour Usha had filed the complaint and told that Madhumitha had bit her hand. However, Madhumitha released a video explaining that Usha was the society secretary, and she had misused the maintenance funds, hence she was removed from the post. After she was removed, Usha started causing problems to other society residents, by stopping their water and electricity at odd hours. However when Jangiri Madhumitha confronted her, she started abusing Madhumitha and attacked her. Later, Madhumitha clarified that she had to bite Usha’s hand because she wanted to be freed from her attack, and did it in self-defence.
Facts
Jangiri Madhumitha is a Lord Shiva devotee. She even wanted to bring a Lord Shiva idol to the Bigg Boss House, but was not able due to Show’s rules.
She entered Bigg Boss house while Chatting Om Namah Shivay mantra. Though being from christian families she follows Hinduism.
She was merely one year old when her father passed away.
Madhumitha got the Jangiri name after playing the character of the same name in her first film “Oru Kal Oru Kannadi.” She was highly appreciated by Audience for her performance in the movie.
Jangiri Madhumitha wanted to work in a serious role. Once in an interview, she said that she loves doing comedy but she also wanted to try out some serious roles.
