Early Life and Career of Matty Lee
Matty was born on 5th March 1998 in USA. He completed his schooling at Carr Manor Community School from 2009 to 2014. After that for further studies he joined Notre Dame Catholic Sixth Form College (2014 to 2016). He had a great interest in swimming from the very start. At a very tender age he learned to swim then took up diving in 2005 at the age of seven having watched his older brother Tom trained as a diver.
Not only swimming but he was also trained for gymnastic and aikido. In the same year he decided to focus only on diving for which he joined the City of Leeds Diving Club at the John Charles Centre for Sport. Lee is an all-rounder, having thousands of capabilities in him. He completed his first European Junior Championships in 2012 when he was fourteen years old. Securing seventh position in the group B platform he completed his World Junior Championship.
At his second European Junior Championships in 2013 he won medals in all three Group B individual events defending his 3m title, bronze in 1m Springboard and taking silver in 10m Platform. Again in 2017, in the event of European Diving Championship, he won a bronze in the Men’s 10-metre platform, and a gold in the mixed 10 m platform synchro with diving partner Lois Toulson. In the same year , in the 10 m mixed synchro of World Aquatics Championship, both Matty Lee and Louis Toulson won silver medal.
