Huma Qureshi is an Indian film actress and model who was born on 28 July 1986 in New Delhi, India.
Early Life
His father Saleem Qureshi is a Restaurant owner and mother name is Ameena Qureshi is a house wife. She completed her graduation in History honors from Gargi College – University of Delhi. She has two elder brothers and one younger brother. Her elder brothers, Naeem Qureshi and Haseen Qureshi work in their family business, and her younger brother, Saqib Saleem Qureshi is a popular Indian actor.
Career
Huma Qureshi has worked as a theatre actress and model. She joined ‘Act 1’, a theatre group in Delhi where her mentor of Indian theatre director and acting teacher, N.K. Sharma. After that, she shifted to Mumbai in 2008 and signed a two -year contract with Hindustan Unilever to appear in television commercials. She did her first advertisement for a cell phone with Abhishek Bachchan. Then she comes into the limelight with a mobile phone advertisement starring Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. Anurag Kashyap noticed her talent as an actress and hired her for a three-film deal with her company.
Huma Qureshi made her film debut with a supporting role in the two-part drama Gangs of Wasseypur in 2012. Her performance was appreciated by the audience as well the critics for the film and she earned several nominations, including the Filmfare Award for Best Female First Award and Best Supporting Actress. Later, she appeared in many other Bollywood films like Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana(2012), Ek thi Dayyan(2013), D-Day(2014), and Dedh Ishqiya(2015).
She debuted in TV serials with ‘Upanishad Ganga’ in 2012, in which she played the character of Pundalik’s wife Nati Hussaini. She then debuted in the Malayalam film ‘White’ in 2016. Then se appeared in the music videos like Ayushman Khurrana’s ‘Mitti Di Khusboo'(2014) and ‘Tumhe Dillagi’ along with the actor Vidyut Jammwal in 2016. She played the character of viceroy in the Hollywood film ‘Viceroy’s House’ in 2017. She made her Tamil debut with the film ‘ Kaala’ along with Rajinikanth in the year 2018.
