Geeta Mali was a singer by profession who was born on 12 September 1981 at her birthplace Nashik, Maharashtra, India. She did playback singing in Marathi films.
Early Life
Born into the Marathi family she has two brothers Mahesh Shewale and Chetanram Shewale. Her mother’s name is Manjula Shewale. Geeta did her schooling from Maratha High School, Nashik. Later, she completed her degree from SNDT Women’s University, Mumbai. Her educational qualification involves Master’s Degree in Indian Classical Music. She was married to Vijay Mali, a lawyer in 18th December and had a one son Mohit Mali. She was popular as a “Song Bird”. Her hobbies includes travelling and doing photography.
Career
Geeta took her singing inspiration from the legendary Indian playback singers Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle. Geeta Mali started a YouTube channel on her name in 11 December 2011. She had her own musical band called “Geeta Ganga Musical Band”.
She was honoured with the Swayamsiddha Award in the year 2015. In 2016, she performed at the Nashik International Film Festival 8th Golden Camera awards, where she sang many hit songs.
On November 2019, when she had returned from the United States and was on her way to her hometown Nashik her car met with an accident as her car rammed into an oil container leading to her death. In the accident, both Geeta and her husband received serious injuries. They were admitted to Shahapur Rural Hospital. During the treatment, Geeta died and her husband had serious injuries.
Also, she has posted a selfie on her Facebook account captioned the photo with ‘Very Happy To Back Home long time’ on the same day soon after she landed in Mumbai from the United States.
