Christine McGuinness is best known as Paddy’s wife, but before meeting the comedian, the 33-year-old Christine was a star in her own right.
Christine Martin of Halewood won numerous beauty pageants as a child after being recognised for her modelling abilities.
In 2005, she won the Chester Model Girl competition, and in 2007, she was crowned Miss Commonwealth.
Christine’s modelling career began in earnest in 2007, when she was 18 years old and won the Miss Liverpool title.
Christine became a regular on the Liverpool modelling circuit, frequently appearing alongside Abbey Clancy, and met her future husband at a Cricket fashion presentation at the Liverpool Tennis Tournament.
“He was meant to be watching the tennis,” Christine said of their meeting, “but I believe he was more interested in the fashion display.” “We met through a common acquaintance, but I can’t say I was starstruck because I’d never seen him on anything.”
“Of course, I knew Peter Kay and Max and Paddy, but I had no idea it was him.” He did, however, make me laugh; he is a true gentleman, and we became fast friends.
“Neither of us were looking for something serious at the time, so we just met up now and then.” It started out quite casually, but when he invited me to spend the night, it rapidly turned into a weekend, then a week, and I ended up staying.”
Paddy and Christine’s romance blossomed, and he proposed on Christmas Day 2009.
“We always unwrap our gifts at midnight because Patrick can’t wait,” she said, complimenting his “really lovely” proposal. He claims it’s because Christmas morning is so frantic, but it’s really simply because he’s a big kid.
“So we were sitting in our pyjamas by the fire, and I’d noticed he didn’t look quite himself during the day.” “I remember asking him multiple times, ‘What’s wrong?’ but now I’m convinced I know.”
After more than three years together, the couple married in a grandiose wedding at Thornton Manor in Wirral in June 2011.
Children of Christine and Paddy McGuinness
After two years of blissful marriage, the couple disclosed they were expecting twins, and Leo and Penelope were born in 2013.
Christine also had breast augmentation surgery at the age of 18 months, which increased her bust size from 32D to 32E.
Christine worked hard after the birth of her twins to restore her pre-pregnancy shape, but admitted that having children made her realise she was “too small,” and she published the results of her gym regime on her Instagram account.
Christine routinely shared photos of her incredible body on the social media network, gaining millions of followers with her envious pics.
Christine was diagnosed as autistic
Since the birth of her three autistic children, Felicity, Leo, and Penelope, Christine has been a vocal advocate for autism awareness.
Christine, on the other hand, admitted to being autistic in November 2021
In an excerpt from her book Christine McGuinness: A Beautiful Nightmare, she declared, “I have been officially labelled as autistic.” It’s ironic, but I’ve observed subtle indicators throughout my life that I’m autistic and more similar to my children than I imagined.
“My nutritional troubles, social difficulties, difficulty to make friends and sustain concentrate, and indecision.” “It reminds me of my eldest daughter, Penelope, the way I float through life.”
Christine also discussed her issues with food aversion and being labelled a “picky eater” in her book.
