Early life:-
Alka lamba was born on 1 September 1975 in New Delhi, India. Her father’s name is Amar Nath Lamba, and mother’s name is Raj Kumari Lamba.
She completed her Bachelor’s degree from Delhi University and letter completed her MSC in chemistry and MED from Bundelkhand University.
Personal Life:-
She was married to Lokesh kapoor until 2003 and has a son named Hrithik Lamba.
Later she was rumored to be in a relationship with Ashish Khetan.
Career:-
Alka Lamba began her political career at a young age. 1994:- She joined the National Students Union of India(NSUI) and was appointed as the Delhi state Girl converner.
1995:- She won Delhi University Students Union elections and was appointed as president in it.
1996:- Alka lamba was appointed as All India Girl Convener for NSUI.
1997:- in this year, she was appointed as the president of All India NSUI.
2002:- She became General Secretary of all India Mahila Congress.
2003:- She fought Delhi Assembly Elections from Moti Nagar Constituency but lost in it.
2006:- Alka became a member of All India Congress Committee on the designation of General Secretary of Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee. In the same year, She was appointed as Vice Chairperson of National Institute of Public Cooperation and Child development.
2007-11:- She became Secretary at All India Congress Committee in Indian National Congress.
In December 2014, she left Inc and joined Aam aadmi party.
2015:- she contested for Delhi legislative Assembly elections from chandni chowk Constituency and won by the margin of 18,287 votes.
On 6 September 2019, she left Aap and joined INC.
2020:- She contested for Delhi assembly elections from chandni chowk but lost in it.
Controversies:-
In August 2015, Alka Lamba, along with her supporters vandalized a liquor shop located near the Kashmere Gate area of old Delhi, shown in CCTV.
According to a report, the shopkeeper was a BJP supporter and did not allow AAP posters to be placed on his shop.
In july 2016, she was abandoned by the fact-finding committee of the National Commission for Women because she met the victim of the Guwahati molestation case and revealed the name of the victim in a press conference being a member of the national commission union.
In 2018, Lamba with 19 other Aap mla was disqualified by the Election Commission of India in the ‘Office of Profit Case. This disqualification was approved by President Ram nath Kovind. Later she pleaded to the Delhi High Court challenging the verdict.
